Another Day, Another Racist

The number of avowed racists in Congress seems to grow daily, as Holdernow 62 of them have called for Eric Holder to resign. Those 62 congressmen join two senators, Republican Sens. James Inhofe of Oklahoma and Johnny Isakson of Georgia, every major Republican presidential candidate and two sitting governors in demanding that Holder resign.

As well, House Resolution 490, which amounts to a vote of “no confidence” on Holder, has garnered 81 signatories thus far. Though it’s not directly a call for Holder to step down, the resolution alleges that the nation’s top law enforcement official’s actions have proven he is not “competent, trustworthy and beyond reproach,” and that he has sought to “cover up” mistakes rather than cooperate with Congress “in disclosing the events and circumstances and transparently addressing the issues.

According to Holder, the problem doesn’t lie with his performance; it’s because he’s black. He’s the victim of race-based attacks that are being carried out against him by virtually every member of congress, as well as the right-wing, conservative, racist mainstream media. Yeah, right. That bastion of conservatism, The New York Times, just called for Holder’s resignation or firing – they don’t seem to much care which.

Holder not only demonstrates on a daily basis his pettiness, his incompetence, his vitriolic racism, and his unadulterated contempt for this country (which we have noted here previously) – he expands upon them.
