Representative Herrera Beutler is, without question, the only elected official in the western part of the Pacific Northwest who posesses a brain and knows what to do with it. In an amazing revelation, she points out that there are at least 70 redundant federal “programs” involving transportation alone:right now the federal government requires that a certain percentage of transportation dollars go to things such as landscaping or transportation museums.

She thinks that it might be a good idea to consolidate them and, essentially, get government out of the way. No wonder that Democrats like Oregon’s Pete DeFazio suffer aneurisms every time she walks by – she makes their heads explode.

70 federal programs? She wants to consolidate seventy freaking federal programs? What is she, nuts?
