Following the election in 2000, in which Florida Secretary of State Katherine Harris judged that George W.

Bush had won the close election in her state (AlGore took it all the way to the US Supreme Court, which sided with Harris), a wealthy guy by the name of George Soros got very angry. He started and funded a new “project” with a revolutionary goal: to do whatever it took to ensure that every Secretary of State, in every state, was a Democrat.

The Secretary of State oversees elections, and Soros was determined to ensure that he got the “proper” results. Cook County, Illinois, has long been famous for its Democrat machine, but with Soros funding a nationwide effort, he made them look like pikers.

Thus began the SoS Project, largely funded by Soros but supported as well by Rob Reiner, Norman Lear, Drummond Pike (co-founder and president of the TIDES foundation)  and SEIU. Interestingly, the website for the SoS Project no longer appears active, leading one to question whether the “Project” has simply gone into hiding. The account for the site has been suspended, but you can take a look at it here. No reason appears for the suspension, and it remains unclear whether it’s shut down completely, or merely in hibernation. It doesn’t really matter; they can’t hide.

In any case, among the candidates they propelled into the SoS position:

Angel-faced Kate Brown of Oregon:

Kate Brown, OR

Brown immediately cracked down on ballot initiatives after she was elected. Brown is a Democrat and partnered with AG Dem John Kroger in this effort. Both Brown and Kroger are backed by public employees unions.

Brown has also blatantly “interpreted” Oregon elections law in such a way as to favor her fellow Democrats, despite written opinion from Oregon legislative counsel contradicting her “interpretation”.

Our vote is the last firewall and MUST be protected. It does no good to get great candidates on the ballot if our votes are stolen.
