Coordiniated Care Organizations were pushed through with HB 3650, and enacted with SB 1580 and SB 1509. Marion County just signed an agreement with a CCO and they’re lurching into a county near you.
Proponents of CCOs have been out there saying, CCOs are not Obamacare, that this is “only” about Medicaid. Nothing to see here. Move along.

On Wednesday, two out of three Marion County Commissioners voted to sign an operating agreement with the Coordinated Care Organization.
Proponents of the CCO say people are overreacting, this is only about Medicaid, and that it’s not Obamacare—meaning it won’t affect the rest of us.
Which is a curious thing to say because on the very first page of the Agreement, Paragraph B says, quote, “CCOs will initially provide health services to Medicaid beneficiaries.”
And that OHA is developing plans for CCOs to provide health care to “employees of the Public Employees’ Benefit Board and the Oregon Educators Benefit Board.”
First they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out…
Tomorrow on I Spy, we’ll talk about some of the other things the proponents of CCOs are saying and take you into that meeting on Wednesday.
Did they have to sign this? Is it socialized medicine? What about transparency? Or liability? And what’s this all mean for other counties as CCOs lurch into their area?
That’s tomorrow on I Spy, 11 to noon. Get a little intelligence on Big Government.
