If you’re like me, you woke up this morning full of hope that the Supreme Court would strike down Obamacare.

And now you need insurance, because you’re sick to your stomach.

I remember when my oldest daughter looked at her first paycheck and was shocked at how much they’d taken out in taxes. “But it’s my money,” she said. “I earned it!”

I gave her a hug and said, “Welcome to the Republican Party.”

Money is a means to establish value on our productivity—in other words, it allows you to exchange your time for mine.

Taxes hit home, then, because it’s a direct theft of your time. Your time has been stolen from you—and it’s a legal form of theft.

Taxes have always been incendiary. The Stamp Act, the Sugar Act, the Townshend Acts—all led directly to the American Revolution.

Today, we learned that the Supreme Court decided Obamacare is a tax. And because of the government’s ability to tax, they can force it on you.

This is not a victory for Obama any more than the Intolerable Acts were a victory for King George.

All I can say in light of this morning is, “Welcome to the Tea Party.”
