Today is Election Day! A day to exercise out patriotic and civil duty, a day to remember the past while we decide the future.

It’s also a day to have some faith. But doesn’t mean staying at home and “having faith” things will all work out. Faith is putting action to your belief.

Here we are, election day, 2012.

It’s a day to have our faith tested. This does not mean staying home; it does not mean refusing to vote. Faith is not passive; it’s active.

Belief is an inward hope; faith is belief put into action. You believe the engineers designed and built a strong bridge. Faith is when you actually cross it.

And so we have faith that no matter who wins, that God’s purpose is served.

Think about it. If Obama hadn’t been elected, there would likely be no Tea Party. Obama was the great wake-up call to get millions of God-loving, Constitution-loving patriots off their couches and paying attention.

We’ve learned so much these last four years. That it’s not enough to have “our side” in office. That we have to be constantly vigilant—especially if our side is in office.

Last night my prayer wasn’t just—if it’s God will—that Romney will win but that we be given a chance to put into practice what we’ve learned these last four years.

So today, have faith. God didn’t wake us up so we could go back to sleep.
